Lone Star State leads the way in national efforts to heal the invisible wounds of war

South-Central Texas is now the epicenter of national efforts to alleviate posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and related conditions among military service members and veterans. This development was made possible by $45 million in funding recently awarded by the U.S. Departments of Defense (DoD) and Veterans Affairs (VA) to establish the STRONG STAR Consortium to Alleviate PTSD, or STRONG STAR-CAP.
