Study Evaluates Workshop for Trauma and Sleep Problems

Open to active & retired military in San Antonio area

Insomnia. Nightmares. Traumatic memories. All can make a person feel exhausted, on edge, and irritable, and wreak havoc on personal and professional life. But standard treatment options for trauma and related sleep problems can take months to complete and can be hard to fit into busy military life schedules.

That’s why the STRONG STAR Consortium is evaluating an innovative, accelerated treatment that uses cognitive-behavioral therapies for trauma and related sleep problems that have been established as effective with service members. Treatment is delivered in a multi-day workshop format.

Researchers at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, in collaboration with Stanford University and the VA’s National Center for PTSD, are currently recruiting.

Are you a military service member or DEERS-eligible veteran in the San Antonio area experiencing:
  • nightmares
  • trouble falling or staying asleep
  • mood swings, irritability, or the feeling of always being on edge
  • avoidance of things that remind you of trauma
If so, you may eligible. To learn more, call 210-562-6726 or use the Get Treatment Contact Form to send us a private message.
